Internal Communications & Creative Lead



Location: Cork, Ireland

Imagine your next project working across multiple elements of internal communications, with some support in an external capacity, and will support the implementation of an ambitious internal communications strategy. As the Communications & Creative Lead, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and communicating engaging content; messaging; and strengthening the communications skills and capacity of other team members, leaders and colleagues.


This role provides a hybrid working arrangement, requiring a presence on-site for three days a week. Additionally, for those who prefer full-time on-site work, the option for full-time site presence is also available.



roles and responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to direct and execute a site-wide internal communications strategy for an audience of approximately 1500 employees and contractors. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Internal Communications Lead and will play a leading role in driving a culture of communication across the site, working closely with a variety of key  stakeholders and business functions. 


This will involve

  • Lead and manage the execution of the internal communications strategy for the site, working closely with the Site Leadership team, departmental teams, global counterparts and external vendors.

  • Own the development of creative content for the site including presentations, graphics, videos, animations, posters etc.

  • Support leadership team with development of email communications, social media posts, speeches, talk tracks and video scripts.

  • Develop a suite of guidance manuals and SOPs for communications to support key stakeholders.

  • Support site Employee Resource Groups with communications about events and initiatives.

  • Act as Communications and Creative POC for the site providing guidance and creative development of assets for colleagues and leaders.

  • Manage site intranet page ensuring all links are maintained and that content is up to date and engages employees.

  • Manage internal LED Screens, ensuring content is maintained at all times.

  • Support all aspects of delivery of in-person Town Hall events and virtual business updates.

  • Track and report upon key communications KPIs.

  • Liaise with external vendors from time-to-time such as videographers, photographers and PR Agency as per business needs.

  • Deliver value to the business from a communications and creative perspective, constantly seeking ways to improve and advance a culture of communication.

  • Support and coach newer members of the team, helping them to get up to speed and learn about communications best practices.

  • Support with the creation and submission of award applications.

  • Own end-to-end delivery and execution of internal communications campaigns.

  • Partner with communications POCs from other sites and teams to share best practices.

  • Drive engagement with global initiatives, reinforcing locally.


Other responsibilities / detailed duties:


  • Give strategic direction to site functional groups in the execution of communications.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and direction to all site staff as appropriate.

  • Through personal expertise, leadership, and commitment, provide direction to the site in developing a communication culture.

  • Travel to locations to facilitate/coordinate activities and events as required.



how to succeed

You should possess 4 to 5 years of experience in a similar communications position within a global or complex business. Proficiency in design, specifically with the Adobe Suite, is a crucial requirement for achieving success in this role.


You will also bring:

  • Solid understanding of internal communication tools and processes.

  • Exceptional written, verbal and copywriting capabilities in English.

  • Comfortable operating within high pressure situations and managing conflicting priorities.

  • Strongly skilled in the development of all mediums of personal and business communication (ie. PowerPoint presentations, email announcements, newsletters, video messages, Town Hall meetings, etc.)

  • Excellent ability to influence and execute positive change.

  • Positive, confident, collaborative and respectful demeanour, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Strategic thinker, with a proven track record working within cross-functional teams.

  • Strong experience working closely with senior leadership from a communications and creative perspective.

  • Accountability, with a strong desire to contribute, be held accountable and be rewarded for delivering results.

  • Confident working individually, and as part of a team.

  • Model integrity and the values that inspire trust in the organisation.

  • Energy, passion, commitment, and courage.


Desirable:

  • Video editing skills

  • Experience utilising tools such as Canva, SharePoint and Email Marketing tools.

  • Experience within a Life sciences or biopharmaceutical environment.

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for a minimum of 12 months with a strong possibility of extending.
