Imagine your next project supporting the development of life-changing therapeutics from clinical Phase 1 through to registration. Within the Analytical Method and Stability Center (AMSC), you will be part of a team that ensures the successful progression of small molecules and new modalities, directly impacting the lives of patients worldwide.

roles and responsibilities 

As an Associate Scientist, you will be essential in delivering analytical support for new molecular entities, including both small molecules and new modalities (e.g., therapeutic peptides, conjugates, and oligonucleotides).

This will involve:

  • Perform analyses in support of Reference Standard characterization, with a primary emphasis on liquid chromatography (LC), ion chromatography (IC) and gas chromatography (GC; headspace and liquid injection).

  • Develop fit for purpose LC, IC and/or GC methods, suitable to meet the Low-Level Reporting Threshold level that is needed for determination of an accurate purity result.

  • Perform analysis in support of product and process characterization, method development, validation, release, and stability, with a primary emphasis on liquid chromatography (LC).

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory guidelines, analytical methods and specifications, GMP and safety.

  • Scientific evaluation of generated results.

You are a detail-oriented scientist who thrives in a collaborative environment and maintains high-quality standards for every experiment.

You will also bring:

  • A master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry or a related scientific field (or a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience).

  • Strong knowledge of and hands-on expertise in liquid chromatography (LC), ion chromatography (IC) and/or gas chromatography (GC).

  • Knowledge of chromatography data systems (CDS), specifically Empower and/or OpenLab.

  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

  • General awareness of cGMP regulations and practical experience (advantageous).

  • Experience or openness to developing expertise in other analytical techniques (e.g., water determination, titrations).

  • A positive "can-do" attitude and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
