We’re on the hunt for two hands-on types of engineers who have solid experience of troubleshooting on various types of equipment, but can also coordinate and delegate well, and are able to manage clients/stakeholders. The site is going into actual manufacturing, and we need an engineer that supports this, together with colleagues from the main maintenance department (80 FTE) of the large site in Leiden of which you also will be part of. However, your sole focus will be the site in Sassenheim to ensure it gets the support it needs in this first operational phase. For that you will troubleshoot yourself, but very importantly also organize J&J technicians, vendors and peer maintenance engineers to do so. Some support on organizing preventive maintenance by others will also be part of your responsibilities. You will also actively suggest and implement improvements. The new site has (biotech) manufacturing equipment installed as well as utility installations. Your knowledge and experience are very welcome.
roles and responsibilities.
Responsible for executing, coordinating and having the oversight of the maintenance related work.
This will involve:
May independently perform first line troubleshooting tasks on equipment and utilities to avoid or minimize downtime.
Liaise with client / stakeholders at the lead level from production to inform on status, determine priorities, manage expectations.
Coordinate and implement corrective maintenance tasks.
Prioritizes corrective maintenance based on equipment criticality and MPS schedule, by directly connecting with the customer to agree on priorities based on customer’s input.
Maintain oversight of maintenance activities and ensure that those are executed in a timely manner and according to the procedures.
Communicates the status of the on-going maintenance activities.
Lead root cause problem solving using the appropriate RCA technics.
Keeps oversight on the quality of executed work, coach and mentor team members in the maintenance practices, techniques, processes and responsibilities daily.
Examine technical reports and other documents regarding corrective/preventive maintenance to identify opportunities to improve outcomes.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Monitor compliance with Maintenance processes, act in case of deviations.
Owns, maintains and shares the technical knowledge of a wide range of assets and procedures.
May work independently, able to give instructions and on occasion is able to lead a team and provide constructive feedback.
Identify opportunities and drive improvements for the maintenance processes.
Provides clear guidance to employees outside the Maintenance department regarding the Maintenance processes and procedures and ensures those are followed.
Sets priorities and performs related duties with minimal supervision, by manager, supervisor.

how to succeed.
You will have a Master’s degree in engineering and technical subjects or a bachelor’s degree in engineering and technical subjects with at least 3 – 7 years working experience in pharmaceutical or similar regulated.
You will also bring:
Hands-on experience with various types of equipment in an industrial, factory environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers on professional level up to departmental management, in English and preferably in Dutch.
Excellent computer proficiency e.g. MS Office, SAP.
