Are you passionate about turning innovative ideas into real-world manufacturing excellence? This role is for a Manufacturing Engineer working in the Additive Manufacturing or 3D Printing space, which includes (but are not limited to) the additive processes and any relevant pre and post processing of the components (e.g. support removal, Hot Isostatic Pressing, etc.). 


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Technical Project Delivery - Take accountability for the delivery of technical projects in Additive Manufacturing, ensuring deliverables meet technical quality standards, timelines, budget constraints and risk/benefit targets. Define and track project success metrics, call out risks promptly, and work across the business to remove roadblocks and secure required resources.

  • Domain Expertise - Provide subject-matter expertise across the full Additive Manufacturing value chain, including processes like powder handling and control, build support strategies and removal, part cleaning, Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP), vacuum-furnace treatments and related inspection/qualification methods. 

  • Process Industrialization - Lead equipment deployment and commissioning activities, including installation qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) where required. Conduct capability studies and validate process performance through Cp/Pp and Cpk/Ppk analysis; implement root-cause adjustments and controls to achieve consistent, production-grade processes. Establish process controls, monitoring, and continuous-improvement plans to sustain product quality and yield.

  • Improvement Mentality - Apply modern agile management and rapid-innovation methodologies to continuously identify, prioritize, and act on improvement opportunities. Lead fast, data-driven changes and scale successful pilots, ensuring all activities remain fully aligned with applicable regulatory requirements. 

  • Process Standardization & Optimization - Be part of the movement driving global process excellence! Ensure that process improvements are communicated and adopted across all manufacturing sites. Support global validation strategies and relevant audits specific to Additive Manufacturing, fostering continuous improvement and compliance.


How To Succeed

  • Qualification or Equivalent Experience in the field of Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, Production and/or Operations Management.

  • 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Passionate about leading significant change initiatives that have delivered breakthrough results for an organization.

  • Strong customer relationship management, with an ability to understand and address client frustrations and spot opportunities.

  • Proven business experience required, with experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, programme delivery and/or people management role.

  • Deep understanding of Additive Manufacturing processes, technologies, and innovation ecosystems is desirable. 

  • Experience with software such as Siemens NX, Materialise Magics, 3DXPERT, DMP control, etc.related to 3D Systems printers and related technologies would be highly desirable. 

  • Proficiency of GD&T, the ASME Y12.5M 1994 standards, root cause analysis tools and problem-solving techniques would be an advantage.
