roles and responsibilities
To help define and implement medical education strategy for assigned therapeutic areas on behalf of brand CVTs to enable Healthcare Professionals to make informed decisions for patient care within the therapeutic and disease areas of strategic importance to the organisation.
To work with scientific faculty to create accredited (where possible) Janssen education plans in line with agreed CVT strategy and proactively identified unmet educational needs
Provide draft medical education plan during business planning process, capturing key educational needs, for agreement and sign off by CVT
Identify, develop and proactively work with national KOLs and other HCPs as speakers and advisers on medical education
Provide UK insights to the UK MAF team, CVT and EMEA teams to help optimise brand/therapy strategy
Liaise with professional bodies and help create strategic networks
Work with external agencies to ensure high quality material, agreed metrics and timely delivery of projects/material
Execute and manage Janssen education plans within agreed medical budget
Strategic Development
Help define and develop Medical Education strategy for defined therapeutic areas in collaboration with TA Medical team and scientific 3rd party and in line with TA strategy
Have strategic input into CVT as required and via Medical Lead
Provide draft Med Ed plan for business planning for agreement of CVT
Plan and execute an integrated multi-channel Medical Education programme to support the achievement of franchise objectives eg:
Meetings: Janssen standalone, 3rd party symposia,
Digital: Janssen owned and 3rd party websites, email campaigns
Written materials for dissemination
HCP support and sponsorship: Congress attendance, medical education grants (e.g. medical education, logistics and delegate handling agencies)
Develop and implement metric systems that monitor “quality” of educational programmes and activities to allow for continued improvement for subsequent events.
Identify, develop and maintain strong working relationships with core faculty, Key Opinion Leaders and speakers and rising stars in the UK, to support Medical Education programmes.
Develop and maintain HCP databases in order to assist with provision of speakers and/or delegates for educational, promotional or advisory board purposes using appropriate CRM systems.
Act as point of contact to align EMEA medical education activities. Influence the EMEA plans in provision of appropriate activities for the local operating company to ensure that the correct educational needs are being met. Ensure compliance of EMEA projects with ABPI Code of Practice for projects involving UK Healthcare Professionals and / or taking place within the UK
Work with Royal Colleges and other professional bodies to gain accreditation of Janssen medical education activities where possible
Through a thorough understanding of HCBI and the UK Code of Practice, monitor the content of all educational activities/materials to ensure strict compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
Manage planned expenditure to agreed budgets, monitor with regular updates with finance partners.
Project manage multiple ongoing medical education activities
Work closely with customer and field support (CAFS) and external agencies to co-ordinate all projects and logistics where necessary
Work through CVT to maximise engagement with medical education activities
Ensure all HCPs, all external agencies are aware of all Transfer of Value requirements, as per ABPI requirement, and encourage all HCPs to publicly declare their Transfer of Value as per Company policy
Proactively identifying and maintaining a database of scientific/academic congresses of relevance to the therapy area
Decision on agency selection using appropriate procurement process.
Complete all allocated training including annual Drug Safety, Code and HCBI Awareness training within allocated time frames
Ensure all ICOMPLY requests are completed in a timely manner
Report Adverse Events and complaints to Drug Safety according to current Adverse Event Reporting guidelines/SOP
Act in accordance with Johnson & Johnson HCBI requirements if interacting with Healthcare Professionals
When commissioning contractors, agencies or third party organisations, put contracts in place and provide training so that these individuals also act in accordance with Johnson & Johnson HCBI requirements when interacting with Healthcare Professionals and report adverse events and complaints (as above).

how to succeed
We are looking for a self-motivated candidate with experience in pharmaceutical events or medical communications, strong project management skills, proven cross-functional collaboration, excellent time and budget management abilities, and the confidence to work independently without requiring close supervision.
You will also bring:
BSc or other degree
Ideally, previous experience in customer facing role
Project Management Skills including financial management
Ability to communicate clearly with all internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver relevant Medical Education programmes
Ability to demonstrate good scientific integrity in the assigned therapy area
