The department - Clinical Supply Planning
The Role:
Hosting planning forums on multiple product categories (Drug Substance, Drug Product, Clinical Finished goods) to align on actions needed to making plans a reality
Provide back-up for other planning functions as needed
Master Production Scheduling
Detailed Scheduling
Material Requirements Planning
Supply Network Planning
Review exceptions
Optimize the flow of materials while considering plant warehouse capacity and inventory management policies, eliminating potential disruptions in the storage area.
Key Responsibilities:
Hosting planning forums (Reliability Rooms)
Host forum with different stakeholders and align on milestones that needed to achieve on-time delivery
Identify bottlenecks or other constraints in the supply chain of the materials under review and follow up on the defined mitigation actions
Provide end-to-end perspective and impact analysis of (potential) supply disruptions across product levels.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
Responsible for running the material requirements plan for component materials needed for clinical finished goods manufacturing (e.g. packaging materials, desiccants, booklets,…).
Maintain offline tools (MS Office) used for MRP planning and related processes and make improvements where possible.
Ownership and maintenance of planning parameters for MRP process (e.g. re-order point, MOQ, …)
Collaborate with partner functions (e.g. buyer, clinical supplies documentation, warehouse, QA/QC) to order component materials and ensure their timely delivery.
Provide impact assessment to partner functions (e.g. production planners, trial supply planners) in case of delays or material unavailability.
Share weekly updates on KPI’s with planning team, partner functions and senior PLAN leaders
Further improve planning processes that enable to better support clinical trial needs.
Site Capacity Planning/MPS
Responsible for running a capacity constrained weekly master production schedule (MPS) and ensuring raw material availability
Perform site capacity planning and site MPS in terms of resources, shifts, equipment and shutdowns
Responsible for optimizing the committed dates for packaging and labeling campaigns according to the study priorities.
Review MPS, resolve issues, and optimizes MPS, running scenarios as needed
Site Constraint Management
Planning and freeze period management of production activities (rescheduling, reworks)
Resolves any manufacturing conflicts for the site. Manages impact and communication of manufacturing driven changes
Scheduling
Optimizes production schedule in accordance to study priorities and available capacity
Communicates/hands over detailed schedule to manufacturing for execution
Responsible for communicating milestones when campaigns are scheduled
Conducts the weekly Operations Planning meeting
Other
Provides input into S&OP process. Provides transparency of risks and opportunities.
Participate in initiatives to improve business processes and tools.
Act as a back-up for select other roles in the Pack & Label Planning team
Maintain strong collaborations and relationships with the other material planners, production planners, trial supply planners, global planning, clinical supplies documentation group and the packaging operations unit to ensure last-minute changes or issues can be handled adequately.
How to Succeed:
Experience in MPS, MRP, Detailed Scheduling or demonstrated knowledge in supply
chain management, preferably in a clinical or pharmaceutical environment.
Results-oriented, sense of urgency.
Ability to work in a cross-functional and cross-cultural environment, considering diverse
perspectives and styles.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions and resolve
exceptions aimed at minimizing supply disruptions and increase speed.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to target communications as appropriate for the audience and make
presentations to a small to medium sized audience
Ability to influence others in a matrix environment
Ability to challenge the status quo and evaluate processes to determine if refinements
would enhance speed of results and productivity or quality
Ability to work with multiple scenarios, identify cost/benefit trade-offs and make
recommendations supported on data and insights
Education & Experience:
Degree
Bachelor degree in supply chain or equivalent through experience. Generally, requires 3 years of related or relevant experience.
Supply chain certification (APICS/IBF) desirable
Languages
English essential , Dutch Preferred
Systems:
Strong Microsoft Office skills to support and maintain offline planning tools. (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, VBA)
Experience with ERP (SAP) & Advanced Planning Systems (OMP) is preferred
Experienced in GMP, GCP, GDP and or quality management systems or processes.
