Position Overview
The position is in the MedTech PPM + Strategic Projects team, responsible for the planning, implementation, execution, and governance of processes related to the project portfolio management with the overall MedTech Plan Strategy & Capabilities.
This includes the definition + implementation of new processes and governance structures; the regular review of the portfolio with different levels of the organization, and the coordination of key financial planning processes such as StratPlan, Business Plan, June Update, and November Update.
This person will work largely independently directly with project leads, the Franchise + Regional PMO and Finance contacts, as well as the respective Franchise + Regional leads.
This role is a critical enabler to drive effective and efficient project portfolio prioritization, resulting in the achievement of stated final organizational objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Drives overall project portfolio governance across the MedTech Plan + Regional SC organization.
Identifies opportunities, drives process definitions or enhancements, and implements them
Coordinates and governs the organization through the key financial processes of Strat
Planning, Business Planning, June + November Updates for the Investment portfolio.
Establishes and leads regular project portfolio reviews with different levels of focus groups and leadership teams.
Acts as the single point of contact for other functions and organizations regarding project portfolio management.
Filtering relevant information and sharing with the relevant internal audience, as well as providing guidance on the appropriation budget request process (CAR).
Understands the real business needs and analyzes them in a general business perspective
Understands and implements solutions to cater to the business need and links them to objectives of the different organizations or functions
Understands the link between data and underlying processes. Translates data/process analysis into building a methodology from which clear actions can be defined
Identifies and proactively mitigates risks throughout the entire portfolio management process.
Benchmarks and leverages best practices across business units, franchises, and outside J&J
Ensures compliance with the Quality Manuals and standards
Ensures credo values are followed in long and short-term tasks
Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level
Works directly with key contacts from the different related PMO teams, with the Finance groups, as well as the Franchise + Regional SC levels.
How to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Logistics, or Engineering.
Project Portfolio Management experience
Experience in Supply Chain Management, Planning / Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or Finance; preferably in a multinational company
Project Management experience preferred
Process / LEAN Excellence certification or proven working knowledge, a plus
Problem solver, ‘Can do’ attitude, a team player, and ability to thrive in ambiguity
Demonstrated ability to manage complexity
Sense of urgency, accuracy with high attention to detail are critical skills for the job
Strong analytical skills with the capability to query systems, and extract sets of data for analysis.
Advanced Excel knowledge is a must, and PowerBI and Power App / Dataverse Platform solution knowledge is highly beneficial.
Ability to work across multiple functional organizations and levels in a multicultural and global/matrix environment.
Demonstrated partnering and influencing skills
Fluency in English is required (other languages a plus)
