About Us
The MSAT department in Leiden supports biotherapeutic drug substance manufacturing and manages key technology platforms for the site. Within MSAT, the Process Analytics team develops and deploys process analytical technologies, process models, and data-driven solutions to improve process understanding, manufacturing robustness, and value delivery for patients.
The Assignment
We are looking for a contractor to lead and support project execution within the MSAT Leiden Process Analytics team. The contractor will help drive technology deployment and data analytics projects by leading selected workstreams, coordinating actions and timelines, managing stakeholder input, preparing project updates, and ensuring clear documentation and follow-up. This is a hands-on role that combines project leadership with practical execution support, working closely with technical subject matter experts and cross-functional partners.
roles and responsibilities
Lead and support project execution: Lead selected Process Analytics projects or workstreams, coordinate actions, timelines, deliverables, risks, decisions, and follow-ups, and ensure progress is visible and well documented.
Support technology deployment: Support proof-of-concept, initial deployment, and scale-up activities for technologies such as Raman, FlowVPX, GDTA, MVA/SIMCA, and related Process Analytics solutions.
Prepare project documentation: Draft, organize, and maintain project plans, meeting minutes, decision logs, action trackers, business cases, change-control input, and handover materials.
Drive cross-functional alignment: Work with MSAT, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Automation, Digital, and global partners to align priorities, clarify dependencies, facilitate decisions, and remove execution barriers.
Coordinate vendor activities: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers on project deliverables, timelines, technical input, documentation needs, purchase or service follow-ups.
Support data and analytics workstreams: Coordinate data collection, input gathering, dashboard updates, model-support activities, and follow-up of analytics deliverables.
Strengthen team routines: Support portfolio tracking, project governance, meeting preparation, stakeholder updates, and continuous improvement of team ways of working.
how to succeed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, Data Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
1-3 years of experience in leading, supporting, or coordinating projects in a technical, manufacturing, quality, engineering, digital, or GMP-regulated environment.
1-3 years of experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, MSAT, process analytics, automation, or data analytics is preferred.
Preferred:
Experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing or technical operations environment.
Familiarity with process analytical technologies, Raman spectroscopy, MVA/SIMCA, process modeling, or manufacturing data systems.
Experience with project management tools, action trackers, SharePoint/MS Lists, dashboarding tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and manufacturing or quality systems such as OSIsoft PI, MES, LIMS, SAP, or similar systems.
Understanding of change control, qualification, validation, business-case preparation, or technology deployment processes.
Experience supporting audit readiness, inspection preparation, deviation/CAPA follow-up, document retrieval, or quality-system evidence packages is preferred.
Training or experience in Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, FPX, or other structured problem-solving or project delivery methodologies.
