Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager for Innovative Medicine Supply Chain, to lead the External Warehousing Category for EMEA.Procurement is a key enabler in driving and supporting Johnson & Johnson’s growth. Being a part of the procurement organization, the incumbent in this role will be driving and/or supporting all aspects of spend performance such as reliability, innovation, cost, supply network readiness, and corporate citizenship goals while collaborating with the wider procurement and supply chain community.
The role
The Procurement Manager will support all aspects of strategic & tactical sourcing initiatives for the Innovative Medicine Supply Chain, including regional delivery and manufacturing warehousing spend, and any additional x-category stakeholder/supplier activities required. This spend is highly sophisticated in nature and requires close collaboration with our business partners to implement.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing, Strategy Creation & Implementation
Create and implement sourcing strategies to ensure high quality, on-time delivery, and cost competitiveness, gain alignment from partners, lead cross-functional, category-based negotiation teams, and implement appropriate supplier risk analysis.
Proactively engage business partners to develop and implement sourcing strategy, with Innovative Medicine supply chain and regional teams, to guarantee the best sourcing solution to meet current / future business and operational requirements
Develop strategy through Business needs assessment, Market intelligence, understanding of external market trends, supplier evaluations and sourcing choices
Develop a supplier regional portfolio strategy to leverage supplier agreements/volumes, optimize use of global vs regional suppliers, increase supply base diversification and reduce complexity.
Sourcing
Lead cross-functional sourcing events & initiatives, including tenders/RFPs (Request for Proposals), supplier direct negotiations, contract extensions & exits to deliver value creation for Janssen.
Work in partnership with key partners to assure compliance with effective procurement policies, procedures and standard processes.
Identify and/or develop the right supplier partners, to ensure service excellence, reliability, compliance and storage capacity to support business requirements
Supplier Management
Lead supplier communications, including sourcing event invitations, issue resolution, pricing terms negotiations and contracting.
Develop and lead supplier partnerships to drive performance delivery, risk mitigation, and value creation via supplier enabled innovation & sustainable carbon reduction.
Support discussions of supplier performance against contractually defined capabilities, including periodic performance reviews and any remedial activities required
Contracting
Partners with the central Supplier Contracting Services team, to ensure that agreements and the way they are implemented meet business demands of all partners and are aligned with the organization’s overall procurement & business strategy
Mitigate business risk through the understanding of commercial, legal and regulatory requirements
Agile project support
Leads, supports or engages as procurement expert in projects ranging from contracting, supply reliability, innovation and new product development
Represent procurement in End-to-End supply chain initiatives, digital tools/ technology adoption and resiliency
Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of bachelor’s degree and preferably a MBA or Master’s qualification but not essential
Experience and Skills: Required:
A minimum 5 years related work experience in Procurement, preferably in warehousing/Logistics Sourcing and/or in End-to-End Supply chain related disciplines, with a good understanding of the deliver process
Demonstrated experience and ability to negotiate complex contracts and establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people in a global, matrix organization embracing a culture of functional excellence, continuous improvement and End-to-End collaboration
Strong partner management skills working with cross category, supply chain and other functional partners.
Proven skills in Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Process Design, Project Management, Standards Definition and Data Analytics
Excellent verbal, written communication skills and demonstrated influencing and change management skills
Financial acumen, budgeting and finance management skills
Customer oriented with a proactive attitude
Other:
Language fluency in English and a 2nd European language would be beneficial
Approx. 10% Travel
