Procurement Strategic Manager 

Location: Zug (3 days office, 2 days home working)

Contract till: June 2024

The Role:

The Manager, Procurement Performance and project is responsible for the leadership of EM Category alignment and excellence, shaping and roll-out of regional and Category strategy, business planning, performance management, stakeholder engagement and change management.

This role will focus on driving robust Business Planning, Portfolio and Performance Management frameworks while partnering closely with the Strategic Value Management and Digital team. The role will manage EM Transformation project, serve as point of contact and lead the project schedule and prioritization, keeping project team aligned with their goals. In addition, the role will also carry critical cross-functional interface responsibilities with other functions (e.g., Finance, Strategy, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape the development of Long-term Vision and underpinning strategy for the category family.

  • Align category strategies with the company strategy and goals

  • Shape and implement a framework for Short & Mid-term Strategy addressing emerging business needs within the annual Integrated Business Planning cycle. Focus on stakeholder engagement enablement and alignment

  • Lead the Global yearly Business Planning process and Strategic Portfolio within Category

  • Leverage and maximize fit for purpose procurement process solutions, including the utilization of world class digital solutions, use of business process outsourcing, and deployment of internal resources

  • Engage with executive leadership in key supplier relationships. Design and Implement the Global Category Family Strategic Portfolio. Select & deploy processes & tools to support Portfolio Execution.

  • Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines 

  • Delegate tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them

  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project

  • Serve as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy

  • Communicate with executives or the board to keep the project aligned with their goals

  • Perform quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected

  • Adjust schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change

  • Initiate and lead KPI (Key Performance Indicator (KPI)) Improvement programs and drive alignment, planning and tracking across all stakeholders involved.

  • Manage all key internal, cross-functional, and external forums of the Global LT (Leadership team (LT))

  • Cultivate a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Benchmark industry best practices and continuously advance procurement capabilities

Required Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, within Procurement in a Category management

  • and/or Region or Country management

  • 2+ years in analytical skills : Scenario planning, data and variances, gap and root causes analysis.

  • 1+ years experience in running the procurement Business Planning process (JU, BP, LRFP..)

  • 1+ years in project management as well as experience in Project team Management

  • Must have track record of effectively leading and influencing within a global matrix

  • environment across multiple businesses and initiatives.

  • Strong business and finance acumen, deep understanding of managing for impact in a

  • highly complex multi-application, multi-function environment is required

  • Must be able to partner effectively and influence at all levels including senior leadership

  • outside the function; demonstrated engagement and facilitation skills at most senior

  • level (Director and above).

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.

Desired Qualifications

  • A relevant degree (e.g., Business, Engineering, Science) is preferred, preferably complemented by an MBA or another master’s qualification is preferred.

  • Experience in the fast-moving consumer goods industry preferred

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through organizational transformation is preferred

  • PMP Certification or Process Excellence/Six Sigma Certification is preferred.

  • Experience working in a Project Management Organization is desirable
