Johnson & Johnson`s Medical Devices, is recruiting for a Program Communications & Change Lead for the EU MDR Project Management Office. 


 

The position will provide communication and change management support, partnering with the various Medical Device Franchises as well as the EU MDR workstream leads.  Connection points will be with R&D, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Quality, Clinical, Medical, Government Affairs & Policy, and Finance.  


 

The EU Medical Devices Regulation (EU MDR) ensures high standards of quality and safety for medical devices that are being produced in or supplied into Europe. EU MDR will establish a robust, transparent, predictable and sustainable regulatory framework for medical devices to ensure a high level of health and safety whilst supporting innovation. EU MDR is relevant to any organisation producing or supplying medical device products into Europe. These EU MDR changes were published in May 2017 and came into force in May 2021.


 

Core Responsibilities


The Communications & Change Manager shall plan and implement a professional and robust Communications & Change management plan for the compliance program. They will work directly with the Workstream leads to collect information and build respective newsletters, websites, knowledge transfer, and marketing-materials to build awareness and stakeholder engagement.  


 

Activities include:  

 

  • Support an annual program-level engagement and communications approach and associated project plan.
    • Integrate key communications milestones in PMO project plan.
    • Ensure that there are plans, support and processes in place to encourage communication between the workstream leads and their stakeholders.
    • Drive business awareness of the programs through the use of various tools


 

  • Join program meetings and collect relevant information in order to build respective 
  • Support Communications website & SharePoint to host communications information about the program 
  • Support delivering of a communication strategy by identified target audience
  • Develop content and deliver knowledge transfer packages about the programs to the business
  • Organise & facilitate workshops 
  • Ensure appropriate visual templates and guidelines such as standard PPT Templates & email signatures are in place.   
  • Support and develop PMO library of reusable EU MDR communication artefacts including: PPT templates, video, image library, posters, standard presentations, etc. 
  • Support the program lead as needed with PowerPoints, minutes or other visuals
  • Work collaboratively with other program leads / communication leads to ensure aligned and harmonised messaging  
  • Building partnerships & maintain strong relationships with team members and stakeholders
  • Organise and collate stakeholder reviews on communication strategy and adapt as needed 
  • Investigate additional vehicles / opportunities to communicate information about Programs to the wider J&J community such as Town Halls, Virtual seminars, Podcasts, internal publications
  • Provide regular status updates



 

Qualifications & Background

 

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution is preferred
  • Approx. 6 years experience in communications within large scale global organisations 
  • Candidate must have excellent written and spoken English language skills, other languages are a plus 
  • Exceptional Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, MS Teams skills are critical
  • Candidate must be self-driven and open to learning new systems and tools 
  • Individuals must work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively take on leadership roles.
  • They must possess analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills while working in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment. 
  • Strong business partnering, team building, and influencing skills are preferred.
  • This position requires a highly motivated individual with intellectual curiosity and proven leadership skills.
  • Understands and knows how to use project and portfolio management tools and techniques 
  • Possesses exceptional communication skills and acumen to lead the appropriate program discussions with stakeholders, senior leaders and governance/decision making forums; produces and presents clear status reports in a tactful and candid manner
  • Ability to cope with ambiguity and championing change
  • Curiosity and continuous learning 
  • The position will primarily be a remote role
