Location: Leeds, UK - Hybrid working - 3 days a week on site

Duration: 12 months

Hours: 37.5 per week


Imagine your next project working as an R&D Training Coordinator for Johnson & Johnson's R&D Team in Leeds. This role involves coordinating onboarding, induction and training for the Leeds R&D group. You will be working with R&D managers, staff and external partners. You will introduce new staff to the site and key personnel and provide relevant information and documentation during their induction period. In addition, you will support existing staff with training requirements when transitioning to new roles.

The training needs of the whole group are dynamic and the program of training needs to be kept up to date and aligned with global company strategies. In the highly regulated medical device sector maintenance of the records of training content and attendance/qualification are key, this role provides support for both internal and external audits where training records/information are required.

The role will also encompass administrative activities to support the group and R&D management, for example, coordination of customer site visits, project support and provision of supplies.


roles and responsibilities

  • Onboarding and induction of Leeds R&D staff

  • Develop, maintain and implement a cost-effective training and development program

  • Support Leeds R&D staff and management in training related activities

  • Contribute to, monitor, review and approve documentation for training curricular

  • Assist with audit preparation from a training perspective

  • Manage staff training records in accordance with procedures/requirements

  • Work globally to ensure alignment between local and global plans

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the different Learning Management Systems and Document Management systems

  • Support administrative activities including managing general supplies, site visits and records retention

  • Identification of continuous improvement opportunities


This function involves multifunctional working with:

  • Managers and staff within Leeds R&D

  • Cross functional team members

  • Internal and external training providers

  • Good computer literacy: working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to pick up knowledge of new systems 

  • Strong organizational skills 

  • Able to manage own workload to ensure deadlines and project timescales are met

  • Clear and confident communicator  

  • Able to work with personnel at all levels within the organization 

  • Excellent team working skills

  • Drive to shape an inclusive and equitable working culture

  • Eligible to work within the UK on a permanent basis
