Project / Maintenance Engineer (Utilities & Buildings)
Location: Leiden- Part-time role 2.5 days onsite
Department/Project:
The Engineering-Validation-Maintenance (EVM) department (> 35 persons) is a motivated and dynamic team responsible for the technical support of all utilities, production and laboratory areas and all involved equipment at the Janssen Vaccines & Prevention site in Leiden.
We work in a challenging environment where we make great progress in commercializing our vaccines. Engineering has a large project portfolio to sustain/improve the existing environment. The Compliance group looks after the correct qualification and validation status of GMP critical equipment and processes.
Furthermore, the compliance group is responsible for the overall quality and safety programs within EVM. The key-focus point of the maintenance groups (U&B, Automation and Equipment group) is asset maintenance management of all assets within JVP.
The role:
As a Project Engineer U&B (utilities & buildings) you are the subject matter of e.g.: purified water systems, steam systems, gas systems). As the expert you will deploy and coordinate utility and facility maintenance to ensure compliance with Good Maintenance and Manufacturing Practices.
You will shape and improve procedures and processes, coordinate with team of technician’s preventive-, corrective- and replacement maintenance on the owned UB systems whereby the technical focus area will be primarily mechanical.
Job Description:
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of maintenance/engineering specialists in which you will;
Play a key role during the yearly maintenance shutdown period in which our GMP production facility is handed over to EVM for extensive maintenance. You will be the lead for preparation, execution and finalization of this operation for U&B systems where you are the SME of.
Be leading and supporting improvement and modification projects within the engineering department.
Interact with peer functions throughout the organization to provide expert knowledge to related support departments like; Operations, Automation, Process Engineering, Quality Assurance to assure efficient and reliable technical support to our customers.
Work with various control, monitoring and database systems (e.g.: SAP, BMS, EMS).
Your other key responsibilities:
Functions as the U&B expert in our multi-disciplinary team and as U&B SME during external/internal inspections or audits.
Establish end-of-life roadmap & future long-term vision for U&B assets
Support technicians as SME in troubleshooting in case of complex technical problems.
Develop/deploy spare part strategy
Handling of Quality compliance records (Change controls, Events, CAPA, Deviations).
Handling of maintenance and requalification documentation in a GMP environment.
Lead/Support continuous improvement projects within EVM department.
Perform RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) on U&B systems
Work with various control, monitoring and database systems (e.g.: SAP, BMS, EMS).
Accountable for EHS Compliance with internal J&J standards of U&B systems.
Accountable for training on U&B assets
Member of the 24/7 support team (1 week every 6 weeks).
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Process or Electrical Engineering
Specific Knowledge and experience:
You have a minimum of 2-4 years work experience as Maintenance Engineer.
Knowledge of utility systems like: water treatment, steam, Gasses
Experience in a maintenance organization preferably in biotechnology/pharmaceutical/process industry environment.
Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry guidelines specific for the pharmaceutical industry and maintenance & Engineering scope (e.g., GMP, RCM, NEN3140, VCA, CE, etc.)
Experienced in asset maintenance management aspects
Skills in troubleshooting & problem analyses, working with maintenance management programs.
Affinity with Project management.
Experienced in CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System, preferably SAP)
An electrical background would be an advantage.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)
