Location: Leiden 


Hours: 40 hours, 12 months contract role, onsite 


Essential: Quality control testing experience within a pharmaceutical environment, fluent in English, managed a small team, GMP 




The Role:


Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine is currently recruiting a Senior Supervisor within our Quality Control department for Advanced Therapies. The successful candidate needs to have experience in QC testing for pharmaceutical biologics and viral vectors and experience in leading people (line management). The role requires resourcefulness, problem-solving and a collaborative attitude.

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is passionate about the development, production, and marketing of antibodies/viral vectors to prevent and combat diseases. At the Leiden Site, dedicated and multi-scaled people are working in a dynamic culture in which innovation and a 'can do' state of mind are the central points.

Within the QC laboratories of the Janssen Supply Chain the Leiden QC laboratories are responsible to support the production activities in Leiden and perform the QC release and stability testing for Leiden and other production sites in the Janssen Supply chain network.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Leads a team of approximately 8-12 reports (paygrades up to 25) and acts as mentor for QC supervisors.

  • Responsible for headcount and Operational Expenses (OPEX) of own team.

  • Acts as backup for the department manager.

  • Supports investigations and escalation level 1.

  • Is pro-active in proposing the vision for his/her own team (e.g. team building, formation plan, efficient processes, mission)

  • Pro-actively communicates accomplishments and represents own team in QC and at the site.

  • Performs local, global and external QC stakeholder management and acts as QC cascade lead.

  • Holds self and team members accountable for delivering high quality work in a timely manner.

  • Gives and accepts team members feedback that helps improve their performance.

  • Recognizes team members' accomplishments when they do an excellent job.

  • Answers inspection questions, leads inspections for own team and acts as QC screener.

Profile

  • Master degree in relevant discipline with 4-6 years related lab experience

  • Experience in Quality Control

  • Profound knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations/cGMP principles (FDA, EU, etc.)

  • Organizational planning and problem-solving experience

  • Experience with principles of Process Excellence, Lean manufacturing, etc.

  • Good presentation skill

  • Excellent knowledge of English
