Duration: 12 months
Hours: 39 hours per week, hybrid (1-2 days on-site)
The Scientific Data Analyst will support digital data capabilities within J&J Innovative Medicine R&D Cell & Gene Therapy, with a focus on structured scientific data, digital process enablement and data-driven decision making.
The role will work closely with scientists, digital teams and platform owners to design and implement scientific data models, DOE, process development templates, recipes and reporting solutions that improve data quality, accessibility and reuse.
The position will support the deployment and adoption of scientific digital platforms by translating laboratory and manufacturing processes into structured digital solutions. The role will also contribute to broader digital initiatives including laboratory digitalization, equipment integration, structured data capture, AI enablement and scientific reporting.
roles and responsibilities
Implement and support digital scientific data solutions.
Work with scientists and digital teams to design templates, recipes, data models, DOE and process development workflows.
Translate laboratory and manufacturing processes into structured digital solutions and data capture approaches.
Analyse scientific datasets to identify data quality issues, metadata gaps and reporting opportunities.
Support testing, verification and troubleshooting of digital systems and data integrations.
Apply FAIR data principles through the use of masterdata, metadata standards and controlled vocabularies.
how to succeed
EssentialBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a scientific, digital, data, process development or technology-focused role.
Experience working with scientific data and laboratory or manufacturing systems.
Experience analysing complex datasets and translating findings into business recommendations.
Experience using SQL for data investigation and analysis.
Familiarity with scientific platforms such as ELN, LIMS, Biovia, MES or similar systems.
Strong understanding of scientific data management, metadata and data quality concepts.
Experience gathering requirements and working directly with scientific stakeholders.
There are two positions available, one role is required to have experience in DOE (Design of experiments)
Knowledge of pharmaceutical development processes.
Experience with digital laboratory platforms and scientific workflow management.
Experience with DOE, PSOA recipes or related process modelling frameworks.
Familiarity with ontology, master data management, controlled vocabularies or semantic technologies.
Experience supporting digital transformation, laboratory digitalization or scientific data initiatives.
