EMEA Scientific Knowledge Manager Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)


Location: Multi-Country vacancy, we are looking for talent to work remotely in UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium or Switzerland (please note that you must have eligibility/valid visa to work in at least one of these countries)

Travel: The role likely to involve EMEA and International travel, around 10% of the time.

The role holder will be expected to be based in their current country of residence as long as easy access to travel/transportation and local hosting is available at a local Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine office.

Duration: 12 months

Imagine your next project as EMEA Scientific Knowledge Manager Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). The mission of our EMEA Scientific Knowledge Managers (SKMs) is to enable Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine EMEA teams to communicate the story supporting the value of our brands.

We develop and deliver impactful & innovative scientific education programs to increase Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine EMEA’s competitiveness and enable MSLs to have impactful discussions with leading specialists. We inform, shape, review and approve company materials to ensure their accuracy, relevance, and compliance. We confidently use and advance digital business solutions. And we work together as a team to ensure consistent quality & excellence of SKM deliverables across all therapeutic areas. We are a team of winners! 

We are currently recruiting an EMEA SKM for PAH. The holder of this position will need to have a clear understanding of ESO’s operational model and SKM’s value proposition, tasks, and way of working. A successful candidate would be able to be construct and articulate a strategic vision and equally able to translate this strategy into tactics and ensure excellence in their execution. 

Individuals who will thrive in this role must enjoy collaborating with a remote team whose members operate in cross-functional settings. Successful individuals will enjoy connecting with global, regional, and local business partners. They can lead change processes within a team as well as cross-functionally. They need to be able to work in a virtual setting for extended periods of time. 

Main objective of the EMEA SKM for PAH

  • Provide regional Scientific Knowledge Management for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine EMEA commercial activities within the cross-functional EMEA PAH product team (IBVT) to ensure the provision to Medical Affairs and cross-functional stakeholders, of consistent high-quality & strategically aligned scientific knowledge and related activities & assets for commercialized products.

roles and responsibilities

Scientific knowledge management

  • To build and maintain consolidated scientific knowledge for specific therapeutic area(s) and associated product(s) by identifying, analysing, and integrating scientific information.

  • To be recognised as scientific expert for a specific disease area and product or group of products and to advise the IBVT, EMAPT, and Local Medical Affairs staff on scientific evidence in support of business planning processes.

  • To ensure relevant scientific information for specific therapeutic area(s) and associated product(s) is made available to internal audiences as validated and appropriate SKM deliverables.

  • To develop and disseminate medical campaigns and associated materials to be used by field-based medical affairs staff in their scientific interactions with physicians.

  • To develop and implement internal scientific educational programs with the intent to upscale scientific knowledge & competencies of EMEA medical affairs.

  • To provide scientific input into the development of EMEA Marketing materials to ensure their scientific quality, relevance, consistency, and compliance.

  • To leverage internal digital knowledge management systems and contribute to their further enhancement and deployment across the region.

  • Participation & Responsibilities in Product Teams

  • To be a member of the relevant EMEA Medical Affairs Product Team(s) contributing to the development of the Medical Affairs strategy and tactical plan for a specific product or group of products.

  • To ensure that the SKM-developed deliverables are aligned with and incorporated into the relevant EMEA Medical Affairs Plan and support the IBVT’s business strategy and key business questions (KBQs).

  • To develop and maintain relationships with the EMEA Medical Affairs Director & other internal stakeholders who are both sources of and potential users of the SKM materials (including R&D Organisations, Op Co and ESO Medical Affairs, Marketing, Health Economics, etc.).

Knowledge & Skills

  • Significant knowledge of communication methods, in particular omnichannel communication, of scientific content.

  • General knowledge of the therapy area PAH and its treatment approaches

  • Advanced knowledge of Scientific Knowledge Management processes and digital technologies.

  • Able to research, identify, analyze, and synthesize information from multiple data sources.

  • Strong communication & educational skills.

  • Able to present scientific data in a comprehensible way in writing and orally.

  • Able to speak in English to larger audiences including in virtual settings.

  • Excellent English language skills & basic medical writing expertise.

  • Able to manage multiple projects within a complex and changing environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Customer and marketplace focused with an awareness of the importance of business results.


Experience

  • 5+ years industry/business experience with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Medical Affairs, Scientific Knowledge Management, or related role.

  • A good understanding of the varying medical practices and perspectives across EMEA.


Qualifications

  • Academic background with a scientific/ medical degree essential
