Location: Beerse, hybrid 4 days a week on site

Imagine your next project taking on the exciting opportunity of developing, simulating and optimizing solvent swap processes for API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) production.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Organic Chemist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing, documenting, and improving the efficiency of solvent swap processes and other unit operations.

roles and responsibilities

You will be playing a crucial role in developing, documenting, and improving the efficiency of solvent swap processes and other unit operations. This will involve:

• Using process simulation software (e.g. DynoChem, Aspen and/ or Chemcad) for designing and optimizing organic solvent changeover efficiency.

• Conduct distillation experiments in the lab to assess effectiveness of the optimized approaches and identify areas for process improvement.

• Evaluate and document experiment execution, experiment results, analytical purity results and yield in a scientific way to ensure comparability to current standards and compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize solvent swap processes and other unit operations and implement best practices.

• Stay updated with the latest advancements and innovations and apply them to optimize unit operation efficiency.

how to succeed

You will need a strong background in organic chemistry, particularly in the development and optimization of solvent swap processes. You will also bring:

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry or a related field.

• Strong expertise in organic chemistry, particularly in the development and optimization of solvent swap processes.

• Proficiency in evaluating and documenting analytical purity using various analytical techniques (including but not limited to GC-MS, LC-MS).

• Hands-on experience with distillation experiments and solvent recovery equipment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Experience in working within the pharmaceutical or chemical process industry.

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality control standards in API manufacturing.
