roles and responsibilities

  • Lead the design, planning, execution, and reporting of R&D studies for medical device innovations, focusing on developing new products and improving existing products, production processes, and analytical methods.

  • Manage and coordinate multiple R&D projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and resources are effectively allocated to meet project goals and deliverables.

  • Contribute to verification and validation activities, including protocol development, test execution, and data analysis, ensuring product performance meets design specifications and regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide R&D support on regulatory submissions, audits, root cause investigations, nonconformities, corrective/preventive actions, risk assessments and supplier selection/qualification.

  • Coordinate the selection, purchase, installation, qualification, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative research environment and professional development.

  • Prepare and review reports, and presentations to communicate research findings to internal collaborators and external partners.


how to succeed


  • Education: A Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.


Experience and Skills Required: 

  • A minimum of 4 years (M.Sc.) or 2 years (Ph.D.) experience in a highly regulated industry is required. Medical Device and/or Pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

  • Extensive experience in organic and polymer chemistry.

  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as NMR, SEC, FTIR, UV-Vis, and KF.

  • Experience with design control processes and familiarity with design verification and validation activities.

  • Strong comprehension of relevant standards and guidelines (ISO 13485, ISO 14971, 21 CFR Part 820, MDR, ICH etc.).

  • Solid understanding of project management principles.

  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software and experience with data interpretation and reporting.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to a variety of audiences.

  • Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written.



Preferred:

  • Comprehensive understanding of intellectual property principles, complemented by hands-on experience in related activities such as patent research and drafting.

Benefits
