roles and responsibilities

This role will  be supporting modelling activities in the Manufacturing Science and Technology department within Johnson & Johnson innovative medicine. This will involve: 

• Develop and deploy modeling solutions (mechanistic and data driven) employed in manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.

• Combine process science knowledge, simulation expertise and algorithmic experience to improve models’ predictive capabilities.

• Embed models into available deployment systems to facilitate model application 

• Contribute to the development and deployment of various models (data-driven and mechanistic) used directly in manufacturing processes.

• Identify, develop and implement process improvement initiatives

• Apply creative solutions to various modeling projects

• Provide technical support to process investigations

• Maintain and optimize models.

requirements

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. (preferred) degree in Science, Math, Engineering or other science related field

• Strong scientific background in engineering, physics, chemistry or similar 

• A proven track record of developing or applying at least one type of the mechanistic models, e.g. heat/mass-balance model, population-balance method, finite-element method, etc.

• Proficiency in one of the main scientific programming languages (MATLAB, Python, etc).

• Practical experience with machine learning libraries and/or statistical tools

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes & products and/or equipment 

• Basic knowledge in quality (GxP)

• Required: Fluent in written and spoken English

Personal skills:

• Strong analytical skills are a must

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently under general direction, having a good sense of prioritization of assigned tasks goals and managing time accordingly.

• Hands-on, result oriented attitude.

• Motivated, self-starter able to work independently with demonstrated problem solving skills. 

• Team player.

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. 

This contract will run for a 12 month duration and has a strong chance of extension. 

This is a remote position. 1-2 days on-site would be ideal, if possible, but not required.
