Location: Beerse 

Duration: 12 months - remote working

Hours: 40 hours (contract assignment) 


Services Overview: 

Logistics Trade Compliance provides trade compliance support services for the Clinical Supply  Chain (CSC) and Discovery Product Development and Supply (DPDS) Organization in collaboration  with the Regional and Global Trade Control Organization. 


Services/deliverables include response to  day-to-day supply chain logistics and operational trade (import and export) issues/inquires for DPDS,  execution of regional and global remediation/process improvement plans, training and maintenance  of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and guidelines. 





roles and responsibilities


  • Respond to day-to-day supply chain logistics and operational trade (import and export) issues/inquires for Janssen R&D US legal entity and provide global support as needed 

  • Receiving, logging and tracking import/export escalations from EU Trade Operations team and  coordination with the business functions to address observations and facilitate resolutions to  escalations 

  • Support the Regional Trade Compliance Operations team in execution of trade compliance  remediation plans and training to help ensure shipments imported are following import/export  customs requirements including shipping documentation, relevant license determination and  application, Harmonized System Code (HS) classification, and valuation. 

  • Executes and ensures compliance to the Johnson & Johnson global trade compliance policy, global trade compliance standards, and other applicable standard operating procedures for import/export activities for JRD; Create or revise SOPs and Work Instructions as needed 

  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all Janssen departments and affiliates to understand the business including its supply chain flows, products, systems, research, materials,  applications and other business resources. 

  • Work with both internal and external partners to understand existing trade compliance processes and execute plans to implement process improvements. 

  • Handle projects and other assigned duties independently with a strong analytical mindset and  leadership skills to ensure timely execution and alignment with business needs. 

  • Perform operational tasks and daily follow-ups to support ongoing compliance and logistics  activities. 



how to succeed



  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in international trade compliance with understanding of logistics and supply chain. 

  • General knowledge of Global Freight Forwarding and Customs Broker operations. 

  • Ability to manage several projects of varying complexity simultaneously and effectively. 

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and disciplined follow up 

  • Proven leadership capabilities and ability to take ownership of end-to-end projects independently.
