The Department:
The Regional Transportation organization of Global Transportation & Trade Operations EMEA focuses on the strategic and operational oversight of Regional Transportation to ensure the reliable, compliant and cost-efficient supply of Regional Hubs and local Affiliates
The Role
Guidance, coordination, and operational oversight of Regional Inbound Transportation MedTech Segment to ensure reliable and cost-efficient supply of local Affiliates DCs from Manufacturing Sites and Regional Hubs.
The focus for this role will be the close collaboration and partnership with the Segment Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, QA, and Trade Compliance Regional and Global functions to strive for reliable day-to-day inbound operations in support of required service to the Customer.
roles and responsibilities
Manage daily operation of transportation services for Inbound Freight from the Manufacturing sites to the Hubs, and from the Hubs to affiliates and distributor DCs, as well as inter-affiliate stock moves within the EMEA region; proactively surface and resolve key issues with a sense of urgency, solve complex supplier performance & quality problems, operational issues including exception management, development of solutions for business continuity and improve business processes
Map, build, manage, and optimize MedTech IBF Transportation spend, align the budgeting inputs and support with the budget owners; deliver on CIP targets through operational improvements whiles ensuring service, quality, reliability and compliance. Lead regular reviews with Finance, MT Segment Deliver Lead, and other relevant stakeholders
Partner with MedTech SC to translate their inventory strategy and business requirements into new innovative transportation solutions, establish effective processes to drive transportation reliability in E2E Supply Chain, support transportation setup for Manufacturing Network changes and New Product Launches.
Represent IBF Transportation in E2E MedTech Supply Chain forums and projects, drive E2E process alignments and Trade-offs, and establish input on Inbound freight into MT S&OP processes. Establish performance measurement of IBF reliability through KPIs aligned with MedTech PLAN and EDC operations teams. Provide input to MedTech Executive performance reviews and support S&OP through Segment Deliver Lead
Manage relationships with 3PL / 4PL (Control Towers) via metrics and by providing them with strategic directions and guidance, as well as driving continuous improvements
how to succeed
Bachelor or University degree in Logistics / Supply Chain / Business
3 to 5 years experience within SUpply Chain & TRansportation (air and road)
Experience in E2E Supply chain related disciplines, good understanding of order-to-cash process
Excellent analytical skills and affinity to numbers: ability to support budgeting and financial reconciliation processes and identify/calculate Continues Improvement Planning opportunities in Transportation.
Subject Matter Expertise across core Transportation, Planning and Carrier /3PL-4PL management, knowledge of import / export processes and systems is a plus.
E2E mindset and collaborative, Customer focused approach. Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority
Innovative mindset with capability for problem solving, compliance orientation/GDP knowledge/quality mindset, business case development and trade-off alignment
Ability to drive continuous improvement and build best practices in Operations efficiency with a focus on Transportation management to drive E2E value
Process orientation with mindset for continuous improvement. Lean certification is a plus.
Good communication and presentation skills paired with ability to conceptualize.
Good Project management and change management skills
