Imagine your next project contributing to the life-changing field of Cell Therapy, where your technical expertise directly impacts the delivery of personalized medicine to patients. This position is part of the CAR-T Asset Engineering team within the Make Asset Management organization (MAM). The Asset Engineer provides technical expertise for lab and process equipment used in the CAR-T process and supports Commissioning and Qualification (C&Q) activities within the cGMP Clinical and Commercial Cell Therapy Manufacturing plants.

roles and responsibilities 

As an Asset Engineer, you lead consistent technical management and implementation of equipment, ensuring compliance with J&J global and local standards.

This will involve:

  • Manages multiple business requests and/or small projects equipment-related through change control quality system.

  • Support and execute operational C&Q activities, ensuring deployment aligns with our Global processes.

  • Serve as the Asset Subject Matter Expert (SME) for CAR-T equipment.

  • Contribute to the creation and review of asset technical requirements and standards.

  • Provide guidance on compliance and data integrity requirements

  • Identify and assess gaps between Global and local compliance processes and drive consistent, compliant CAR-T technical practices across CAR-T sites.

  • Develop and maintain strong strategic vendor relationships

  • Sustain continuous technical improvements across the asset base.

  • Drive to solutions by coordinating with other internal departments and/or outside suppliers

  • Support technical investigations arising during C&Q activities or day-to-day operations.

  • Drive evaluation, business case development, and implementation of new asset technologies.


how to succeed 

You are a highly analytical engineer with a deep understanding of pharmaceutical compliance and a passion for operational excellence.

You will also bring:

  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Bioengineering or equivalent technical discipline.

  • 3+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing / engineering environment.

  • Proven experience in commissioning & qualification (C&Q).

  • Understanding of data integrity requirements (21 CFR Part 11).

  • Ability to lead technical management and implementation of equipment.

  • Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
