Job title: Communications Manager
Location- High Wycombe/ Hybrid
Contract length: 12 Months
Hourly Rate- £35-£40 per hour PAYE Inside IR35
Job Purpose
Playing a central role as the voice of the business, the Communications Manager will contribute across internal, external and digital communications. Focusing on colleague engagement, they will embed our vision and strategy, communicating our purpose initiatives and breakthrough innovations. Understanding digital media platforms, they will craft compelling content for social channels and sites. And bringing a strategic approach and calm head, they will handle a broad spectrum of media and reputational issues.
The successful candidate will bring outstanding copywriting ability, keen judgement on how audiences respond to content, and strong influencing capabilities. They will contribute to a broad communications agenda, with involvement in strategy setting, channel development and counselling teams on communications. A hands-on role, it will suit someone who enjoys tactical delivery and getting involved in everything from media statements to employee videos.

Responsibilities
Act as a storyteller, connecting audiences to the Company’s brands and business priorities, both externally and internally.
Develop positive relationships and serve as a trusted communications adviser to leaders and colleagues.
Be a hands-on creator of communications, including newsletters, talking points, intranet articles, Town Hall decks, media statements and videos.
Craft copy for social media channels and web pages and play an active role in furthering our external digital presence.
Build engagement through communications activities to embed our purpose, agile ways of working, and diversity, equity and inclusion priorities.
Measure the impact of communications, driving continuous improvement, while providing insights that drive confidence.
Deputise for public affairs activities, including representation at relevant trade associations.
To be considered for the Communications Manager role you must have the following skills and experience
Degree in Business, English, Journalism or Communications is Desirable
strong business experience, preferably in an agency or in-house / industry.
Experience in Consumer products
Clear, impactful communications skills – ability to identify story angles, seek out news, and package it in a meaningful way to drive interest, engagement and motivation.
Experience of handling high-profile media issues and crisis situations.
Understanding of organisational change techniques, and how to use internal communications to drive employee engagement.
Strong understanding of the media, with the ability to form trusted relationships with key reporters.
Ability to balance multiple priority assignments and to deliver against tight time constraints. Calm under pressure.
