Communications Specialist 

Location: UK - Remote working

Duration: 12 months

roles and responsibilities

  • Develop and activate UK Comms plan aligned to Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Strategy.  

  • Support DEI Chair with leadership comms (draft/review/input/cascade). 

  • DEI Council/Employee Resource Group (ERG) lead appointment announcements (draft/edit/publish).

  • Comms lead for DEI council plan deliverables: National Inclusion Week; Mental Health Awareness Week, We all Belong days. Includes all employee engagement content development.  

  • Ad hoc comms support for DEI PMO. 

  • Oversight of UK Employee Resource Group (ERG) Communications activities via yearly milestone planner. 

  • Run monthly ERG Comms leads call and advise on channel strategy for ongoing ERG Comms activities. 

  • Support for ERG led activities (where there is Enterprise Channel involvement). 

  • Connect ERGs to key stakeholders (EMEA/Sector Comms etc). 

  • Ad hoc support with ERG comms challenges/requests.

  • Draft/edit/publish UK Enterprise CSR communication initiatives.

  • Comms support for UK Leadership Council announcements


how to succeed

  • Degree in Business, English, Journalism or Communications preferred, plus a minimum of six years Communications experience, preferably in an agency or an in-house/industry role

  • Technical:

    • Clear, impactful communications skills – ability to identify story angles, seek out news, articulate business strategy and package it in a meaningful way to drive interest, engagement and motivation.

    • Management of reporting, measurement and insights to drive strategy and business outcomes.

    • Project Management experience of managing a project through a vendor end-to-end.

    • Compliant communications and copy approval knowledge and experience. 

    • Experience of how to use internal communications to drive employee engagement.

    • Strategic communications campaign and project development linked to marketing and business objectives.

    • Understanding and experience of design and experience in email management tools and software.

    • Experience in social media content development and community management including analytics.

  • Leadership:

    • Effective stakeholder management, using insights to influence and coach senior leaders across the business.

    • Drive efficiencies, best-practice and knowledge sharing across the local op-co and broader CPA function.

    • Ability to balance multiple priority assignments and to deliver against tight time constraints. Calm under pressure.



Benefits

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for a minimum of 12 months with a possibility of extending.
