Duration: 12 months initially

roles and responsibilities

The role will be a member of the Digital & Technology Group, located at the Janssen site in Ringaskiddy. 

  • The position will shape the technology strategy within the team and the site, focusing on data democratization, systems, infrastructure, Industry 4.0/IoT, and visualization tools. 

  • Hands-on approach, primarily using R/R Shiny, Python and SQL

  • Engaging with business stakeholders, gathering information and data and building, prototyping proof of concepts

  • The role requires an understanding of Pharma process fundamentals, the Software Development Lifecycle, and the Asset Management lifecycle.

  •  It also requires the ability to implement Lean Manufacturing and/or Process Excellence tools in a Pharma environment.

  • A Data Specialist with data story-telling ability and great attention to detail! An innovative, customer centric and results focused individual with excellent communication, project management and problem-solving skills. 

  • A strong decision maker who will partner with site functions and other Janssen/J&J sites and will consistently demonstrate integrity and Credo-based actions. 

  • A focus on patients and a willingness to take responsibility for completion of tasks.


how to succeed

  • Third level Degree in engineering, science, or an IT field. 

  • Experienced user of R Shiny

  • Data Solutions Expert or related experience. 

  • Four years' of confirmed experience within a pharmaceutical or GMP regulated manufacturing environment. 

  • Extensive knowledge of end-to-end data flows, data architecture and database structures; strong SQL skills and knowledge of ongoing data engineering utilising Databricks to access Azure data. 

  • Ability to work individually or collaborate and operate as part of a team in highly interdependent environment is critical. 

  • Project Management skills (SCRUM, Agile, FPX, Waterfall) and track record of leading projects to deployment stages.).   

 

Desirable: 

  • Consistent record in data management systems and infrastructure.  

  • Understanding of the ISA S95 & S88 standards and implementation within the Global Supply Chain

  • Good understanding of asset management/maintenance systems (ERP, CMMS) and S95 systems (Level 1, 2 and 3 such as MES PAS-X, OSI-PI, and IT infrastructure and hardware; Level 4 systems such as SAP, Quality Systems, Data warehouses, etc.) 

  • Demonstrated ability to act with autonomy and independence while fulfilling priorities and meeting critical deadlines.   

  • Extensive experience of visualization solutions such as Tableau, Python, R studio and manipulating Pi data for trending purposes. 

  • Good appreciation of Industry 4.0/IoT and how transformation can optimally be achieved within this framework.

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for a 12 month period and has a strong chance of extension. This role is hybrid (3 days on site, 2 days at home)
