Maintenance Reliability Engineer


Location: Barnahely, Cork - Ireland - Site based

Duration: 12 months 

Hours: 39 hours per week


We are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Reliability Engineer to join our Maintenance Reliability Engineering team. The maintenance reliability engineer will provide technical support to maintenance, operations, and project teams on equipment performance and reliability issues. Analyse historical maintenance data and equipment reliability metrics to identify gaps in current PM programs. Optimize maintenance plans to improve equipment uptime, reduce failures, and enhance overall reliability. Update and maintain accurate PM tasks, job plans, and equipment master data within the CMMS (SAP). Conduct risk assessments, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), to develop risk-based maintenance approaches. Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and operational standards in all maintenance activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of updated PM strategies.

  • Evaluate and update existing PM tasks and job plans in SAP to align with best practices and organizational objectives.

  • Standardize PM procedures across similar equipment types to improve consistency.

  • Analyse historical maintenance data, equipment failure trends, and root cause analyses to identify gaps in the current PM program.

  • Develop and integrate reliability-focused maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and improve asset availability.

  • Work closely with maintenance teams, operations staff, and engineering to gather input and validate PM updates.

  • Conduct workshops or meetings to communicate changes and ensure alignment across teams.

  • Develop detailed documentation for updated PM procedures and reliability improvement initiatives.

  • Generate reports on project progress, cost savings, and reliability improvements to stakeholders.

  • Ensure updated PMs meet regulatory, safety, and company standards.

  • Incorporate risk-based and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies into PM strategies.


how to succeed

Essential

  • A Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Process Engineering.

  • Reliability and/or Maintenance experience within a process or pharmaceutical cGMP regulated environment.


Desirable

  • Experience of best practices in preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, maintenance planning, reliability engineering, RCM or FMECA.

  • Experience of SAP.

  • Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Experience of Delta V, PLC and SCADA systems

  • Attention to detail.

  • Good problem-solving skills.
