Imagine your next role as Medical Affairs Specialist - Lead scientific publications activities (evidence generation plans, scientific publication plans, execution of scientific publications and associated medical education) in support of the Global Medical Affairs Strategy.
Reports to - Director, Integrated Evidence Strategy and Communications. Global Medical Affairs
Key responsibilities
Responsible for Evidence Generation Activities relating to Global Medical Affairs objectives in collaboration with colleagues from Research and Development, Biostatistics, and Market Access and others
Accountable for the development of Global Scientific Publication Plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams including representatives from Research and Development, Biostatistics, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Strategic Marketing, Corporate Communications
Responsible for the alignment of Global Publications Plans with Global Medical Affairs objectives
Accountable for the content development and delivery of Scientific Publications outlined in the Global Scientific Publication Plans in accordance in Good Publication Practice and Janssen SOPs
Accountable for documentation required to demonstrate the development of Scientific Publications in compliance with Good Publication Practice and Janssen SOPs
Representing Janssen at international Scientific Congresses and managing the delivery of Scientific Publications at these congresses
Responsible for the development and delivery of Medical Education related to the content of Scientific Publications including biostatistics methods, and interpretation of scientific and clinical data
Responsible for engagement with KOLs for activities relating to evidence generation, publication planning and development of scientific publications in compliance with Health Care Compliance regulations
Supporting the management of Scientific Communication Agencies
Planning the support of HCPs/GOs travel and hospitality related to publication activities while fulfilling all healthcare compliance requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Higher scientific or biomedical degree (MSc, PhD, PharmD) or degree as a medical doctor
Job experience:
Minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical industry experience, ideally in Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, or similar
At least 3 years? experience in evidence generation and scientific publication planning, KOL management, scientific publications, and medical education
Demonstrated ability to understand complex methods (e.g. biostatistics, clinical trial designs), and to interpret and critique complex scientific/clinical data
Capable of leading, contributing to, and influencing cross-functional teams and matrix organizations
Proven ability to lead engagement with KOLs for scientific exchange
Strong acumen in clearly communicating complex concepts to a variety of audiences including KOLs, medical colleagues, and commercial colleagues
Excellent ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a broad range of internal colleagues and external partners including KOLs, clinical study investigators, leaders in health-care organizations
Demonstrated project management skills, developed through management of projects with internal and external stakeholders
Exceptional interpersonal, written communication, and negotiation skills
Fluent in English, oral and written
