Be part of Global Planning, Schaffhausen Fill Finish site platform. The Global Material Requirements Planning team is responsible for the planning and replenishment of direct materials and consumables essential for the production of our pharmaceutical products for our patients. The Material planning team leads the inventory management of materials while optimizing Slow Moving and Obsolete (SLOB) values.

Planning and procurement of direct materials, converting the output of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and the Detailed Schedule (DS) into material requirements to ensure availability of the right quantity of components to the production lines when needed; communicating the plan to the different suppliers within the agreed lead times

Aim of the position - Main Responsibilities

  • Co-Ordinate the development, maintenance, communication and publication of the Materials Requirements Plans (MRP) to ensure that patient / customer requirements are met. 

  • Follow up on the MRP plan execution to ensure on time and in quality deliveries. Handle mismatches and complaints related to suppliers.

  • Responsible for the inventory management of the materials in scope (inventory levels optimization, maintenance of planning parameters, SLOB management and Inventory Destruction Avoidance, etc). Manage materials Phase in-Phase out processes.

  • Ensure on time availability of materials for new product launches 

  • Partner with Global Procurement to drive Supplier performance improvement including quality and ontime delivery.

  • Interfaces globally with Supplier Quality (ESIQ), site Quality, Finance and warehouse staff regarding quality issues and materials changes to ensure supply continuity and proper return/disposal/replacement of rejected / defective materials. 

  • Analysis and reporting maintenance, improvement, and communication to needed platforms (suppliers OTIF, SLOB, stock out, STEM, etc).

  • Responsible for handling suppliers related complaints, ensuring efficient implementation and monitoring of corrective actions. 

  • Responsible for ensuring business continuity plan and efficient crisis management for uninterrupted supply (market unexpected events, etc) in collaboration with the different concerned departments.

  • Develop and project-manage local/regional/global initiatives to deliver continuous improvements. 

  • Drive or support projects related to digital integration (enhancements of existent systems, new systems integration and implementation).

  • Effectively partner with internal and external business partners

  • Support team development

  • Review and revamp SOPs


how to succeed

Education & Experiences

  • Bachelor Degree in a Supply Chain Management or other related Business discipline is essential. 

  • Supply Chain Certification is preferred e.g. APICS.

  • Lean Certification is desirable. 



Skills & Competences

  • A minimum of 2-3 years relevant Supply Chain experience (Planning, Logistics or Manufacturing) is required.

  • Experience in Planning/Purchasing in a multi national environment

  • Ability to build strong partnership relationships both at site level and platform level. 

  • Ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms. Ability to translate complex situations into simple working solutions.

  • Strong analytical skills 

  • Ability to influence others in a matrix environment

  • Location of Role: Schaffhausen – Switzerland Language Requirements: Fluent English, German is a plus Travel Requirements: up to 10%.

Systems knowledge

  • SAP profound knowledge 

  • OMP knowledge is a plus
