Process Engineer - Capacity Modelling Specialist


Location: Remote working. Site in Cork if preferred

Duration: until 31/12/2023 initially

Imagine your next project as a Capacity Modelling Specialist, working at the forefront of cutting edge work and technology with one of the leading Pharmaceutical companies in the world! 

This role will be in Process Science and Modelling (PSM) group within Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) which is under Janssen Supply Chain. They provide technology solutions to internal and external manufacturing sites focusing on providing advanced modelling solutions.


roles and responsibilities

To understand the capacity of our various biologics plants, digital representations/process models of the productions carried out in those plants are to be built. The candidate’s responsibility will focus on life cycle management of the process models. Tasks may include:

  • Scouting for use cases working along with our site representatives. 

  • Respond to site specific use case requests. 

  • Develop automation and other improvement of the models. Using SuperPro® Designer software which has the ability to simulate material consumption and production/equipment occupancies. 

  • Automate existing SuperPro models for sensitivity analysis

  • Respond to requests for model use cases


how to succeed

Requirements: 

  • Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent fields.

  • Strong knowledge of systems modelling, capacity modelling and process modelling principles

  • Experience with systems engineering software such as SuperPro, ASPEN and gPROMS

  • Programming experiences is a plus especially in VBA 

  • Familiarity with monoclonal antibody manufacturing processes
