The Warehousing Procurement Manager will be responsible for driving all aspects of strategic & tactical sourcing initiatives for Janssen Supply Chain, including regional Deliver and Manufacturing cold chain  warehousing spend. This spend is highly complex in nature and requires a close collaboration with key stakeholders within the business to execute.

Roles and Responsibilities

Essential duties

Warehousing Sourcing, Strategy Creation & Implementation


  • Create and implement Warehousing sourcing strategies to ensure high quality, on-time delivery, and cost competitiveness, gain alignment from stakeholders, lead cross-functional, category-based negotiation teams, and implement appropriate supplier risk analysis.

  • Proactively engage business partners to design and implement sourcing strategy, in particular with Janssen supply chain and logistics regional teams, to guarantee best sourcing solution to meet current / future business and operational requirements

  • Develop strategy through Business needs assessment, Market intelligence, understanding of external market trends, supplier evaluations and sourcing choices

  • Develop a supplier regional portfolio strategy to leverage supplier agreements/volumes, optimize use of global vs regional suppliers, increase supply base diversification and reduce complexity.


Sourcing

  • Lead cross-functional sourcing events & initiatives, including tenders/RFPs (Request for Proposals), supplier direct negotiations, contract extensions & contract exits to deliver value creation for Janssen.

  • Work in partnership with key partners / stakeholders to assure compliance with effective procurement policies, procedures and best practices.

  • Identify and/or develop the right supplier partners, to ensure service excellence, reliability, compliance and storage capacity to support business requirements


Supplier Management

  • Lead supplier communications, including sourcing event invitations, issue resolution, pricing terms negotiations and contracting.

  • Develop and manage supplier partnerships to drive performance delivery, risk mitigation, and value creation via supplier enabled innovation & sustainable carbon reduction.

  • Support discussions of supplier performance against contractually defined capabilities, including periodic performance reviews and any remedial activities required


Contracting

  • Partners with the central SCS team (Supplier Contracting Services), to ensure that agreements and the manner in which they are executed meet business demands of all stakeholders and are aligned with the organization’s overall procurement & business strategy 

  • Mitigate business risk through the understanding of commercial, legal and regulatory requirements 


Agile project support

  • Leads, supports or engages as procurement expert in projects ranging from contracting, supply reliability, innovation and new product development

  • Represent procurement in End-to-End supply chain initiatives, digital tools/ technology adoption and resiliency

What We Look For In a Candidate

Minimum Qualification 


  • Fluency in English & Russian is MANDATORY along with knowledge of warehousing & logistics in Kazakhstan


  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree and preferably a MBA or Master’s qualification

  • A minimum 6 years related work experience in Warehousing & Logistics Sourcing and/or in E2E Supply chain related disciplines, with a good understanding of the deliver process

  • Demonstrated experience and ability to negotiate complex contracts and establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people in a global, matrix organization embracing a culture of functional excellence, continuous improvement and E2E collaboration

  • Strong stakeholder management skills working with cross category, supply chain and other functional partners. 

  • Demonstrated skills in Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Process Design, Project Management, Standards Definition and Data Analytics

  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills and demonstrated influencing and change management skills

  • Financial acumen, budgeting and finance management skills

  • Customer oriented with a pro-active attitude.

  • This position may require up to 10% travel;


Benefits

This role offers a very competitive hourly rate. This contract will run for 6/9 months  10 months and will be reviewed for an extension.
