Trade Compliance Analyst


Location: Diegem OR Beerse

Working mode: Hybrid, 3 days on-site and 2 WFH

Duration: Contract initially running until the end of 2025 (opportunity for a contract extension)

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Pay rate range: Competitive hourly rate

EMEA Trade Compliance Operation is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Trade Compliance Analyst to join our team on a temporary backfill basis. This role will support international trade operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to process improvements. The Trade Compliance Analyst will play a key role in managing customs clearance activities, supporting audits, and collaborating with brokers and internal teams to maintain smooth and compliant global trade operations for Johnson & Johnson.

roles and responsibilities

1. Customs Clearance Operations

  • Support daily customs processes and resolve shipment issues to ensure timely customs clearance.

  • Provide expertise on customs requirements and support the onboarding of new products, lanes, and carriers.

  • Maintain and update performance tracking dashboards.


2. Trade Compliance and Audit Support

  • Ensure customs declaration accuracy and compliance with trade regulations.

  • Support licensing activities, maintain required trade documentation, and assist in internal and external audits.

  • Conduct post-entry reviews and monitor customs data to identify and resolve discrepancies.


3. Customs Brokerage and Financial Oversight

  • Monitor and support customs broker performance, driving consistency and reliability.

  • Manage key financial processes such as purchase orders creation and invoice approvals related to customs services.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives with brokers and internal partners.


4. Project and Process Support

  • Participate in trade-related projects, such as customs broker transitions, process standardization, and regulatory implementations.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of trade compliance processes and tools.

  • Collaborate with global and regional teams to support deployment of global standards.


how to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in trade compliance, customs operations, or international logistics.

  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations and international trade processes.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, and comfortable using Microsoft Teams and other collaboration tools.

  • Experience in project management or supporting cross-functional projects.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated and adaptable to change.
