Commercial Ecosystem Program Lead


Location: Remote (we are currently looking for talent who are based in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland or Belgium)

Duration: 6 months

Hours: 40 hours per week

Pay rate range: Competitive hourly rate

The role involves supporting a Scaled Agile team of Commercial Product technologists, ensuring the successful deployment of the S4HANA OTC EMEA implementation across multiple markets, adapting Commercial systems to integrate with the new 2.0 OTC EMEA template, and completing fit gap analysis of each local market to ensure all commercial processes are fully functional post go-live.

roles and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Management:

  • Support the Commercial OTC EMEA JJT workstream, working alongside the IT and Business programme sponsors to oversee the commercial downstream system deployment as part of the S4HANA OTC implementation in the EMEA region

  • Facilitate a Scaled Agile team of cross-product line teams, ensuring smooth go-live processes and successful market deployments

  • Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging open communication and feedback among team members

  • Support budget discussions, identifying opportunities to optimise costs across the product teams and managing risks and opportunities. 

  • Represents the Commercial Workstream in critical meetings, including weekly ecosystem calls, monthly ecosystem deep dives, QBRs, Product Increment Planning and other SteerCos and meetings adhoc


Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and execute detailed project plans, ensuring all project components work cohesively to achieve the programme's objectives across PIs

  • Coordinate with business function leaders to ensure alignment and successful execution of project tasks

  • Coordinate e2e system testing, implementing improvements in testing processes to streamline go-live procedures and reduce risks


Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner closely with the Commercial Workstream business lead to ensure full alignment to strategic priorities

  • Serve as a point of contact between the Commercial and Supply Chain JJT organisations, as well as teams responsible for Commercial Data Lake, BTP software integration and other capability teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration across both business and technology

  • Provide constant support and act as an escalation point for any key issues that arise during the project


Risk Management and Problem Solving:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the programme's success

  • Managing co-dependancies across PIs and across the products of the workstream, coordinating and derisking to ensure consistent release plans

  • Demonstrate strong leadership in navigating complex and ambiguous situations, ensuring the programme stays on track

  • Address challenges with a positive attitude, fostering a climate of trust and resilience within the team


Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously evolve the OTC EMEA Commercial Workstream SAFE model, ensuring strong alignment across the different components of the commercial ecosystem

  • Leverage best practices from previous deployments to enhance future project outcomes

  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, promoting innovative solutions and process enhancements


how to succeed

  • SAFE Scaled Agile programme participation

  • Exposure to SAP / S4HANA projects

  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain Order to Cash processes

  • Experience across Commercial application landscape, including SFE, Data & Analytics and Contract Management

  • Experience of budget management

  • Skilled communicator, with ability to influence without authority 

  • High level of experience with Jira, Confluence and other Agile tools
