J&J Innovative Medicine Principal Operations (IMPO) belongs to the Innovative Medicine Companies of Johnson & Johnson. J&J IM Principal Operations is a global organization located in USA, Belgium, Ireland, The Netherlands, Singapore and Switzerland.

Within J&J IM Principal Operations, our mission is to provide diligent stewardship of the Innovative Medicine business model, by protecting and optimizing the product intellectual property (IP) structures in close collaboration with J&J Innovative Medicine Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain, Tax and Treasury.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Analyst - Accounting, Reporting & Controlling to join the IMPO Finance team in Cork, Ireland on a fixed-term contract basis.

Reporting to the Finance Manager/Senior Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Analyst will support the Irish Janssen Principals across both Accounting & Reporting and Controlling activities. This role is designed to provide backfill capacity and business continuity across core finance processes, including month-end and quarter-end close, financial reporting, planning and forecasting cycles, compliance and controls support, management reporting, variance analysis, process improvement initiatives and business partnering support.

The successful candidate will be a well-rounded finance professional with a strong analytical mindset, the ability to operate across multiple finance disciplines, and a practical focus on accurate delivery, stakeholder collaboration and continuous improvement. This is an individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibilities.

roles and responsibilities.

  • Support the preparation, analysis and submission of timely, accurate and compliant financial results for Business Plan, Latest Thinking, Quarterly Close and other reporting cycles.

  • Prepare and analyse month-end, quarter-end and year-end close deliverables, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, local requirements and internal finance policies.

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations, supporting schedules and other accounting deliverables required to support the close and reporting process.

  • Support the preparation and analysis of Balance Sheet reviews, including investigation and explanation of material variances against prior periods and forecast assumptions.

  • Execute assigned SOX controls and support maintenance of a strong internal control environment.

  • Support accounting assessments and documentation for complex or non-routine transactions through collaboration with business partners and Corporate Controllership.

  • Support the preparation of management reporting, financial analysis and business insights for local and global stakeholders.

  • Prepare forecast, plan and actual reporting deliverables and provide meaningful variance analysis across key financial metrics.

  • Support, enhance and standardize planning, reporting and actuals processes across IMPO Ireland.

  • Closely partner with other IMPO affiliates, Treasury, R&D, Supply Chain, Local CTC, Tax Planning, Global Functions and Corporate Consolidation teams on business and finance-related initiatives.

  • Participate in strategic projects, technology initiatives and process transformation activities impacting finance operations and reporting.

  • Support ad hoc analysis and projects, as required, to meet business objectives and support organizational priorities.

  • Champion continuous process improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices, with a focus on simplification, automation and standardization.

  • Support internal and external audits and partner with Compliance to ensure timely completion of audit requirements and control activities.

  • Support the local IMPO Finance team to achieve its goals and objectives while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.



how to succeed.

  • ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant finance experience within a multinational environment.

  • Strong functional knowledge across financial accounting, reporting, planning and analysis.

  • Experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, forecasting and control activities.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, both written and oral.

  • Comfortable dealing with complexity, with strong attention to detail while maintaining focus on broader business objectives.

  • Strong eagerness to improve processes in a dynamic environment with a focus on automation, standardization and digital solutions.

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.

  • SAP experience preferred OR other ERP. Power BI, Alteryx and other digital analytics tools are advantageous
