J&J Innovative Medicine Supply Chain Geel serves as a Centre of Excellence for the development and manufacturing of Small Molecule APIs, used in treatments that improve the health and lifestyle of people worldwide. The Supply Chain Quality (SCQ) team supports the Geel site in its mission as a Launch & Grow site and is responsible for quality oversight and final release of APIs, ensuring reliable supplies in compliance with applicable global regulations.
roles and responsibilities
As a QA Associate – Laboratory, you provide quality support to laboratory activities in order to ensure that GMP compliance, data integrity, and timely release of test results are consistently met.
This will involve:
Provide QA oversight of QC laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with cGMP, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Support the laboratory teams by providing quality, compliance, and technical expertise.
Perform and support QA walk-throughs / check rounds in laboratory areas.
Ensure appropriate implementation and adherence to data integrity principles (ALCOA+).
Review and approve GMP documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, protocols, validation documentation, and reports related to laboratory activities.
Ensure Change Controls, Deviations, OOS/OOTs, and CAPAs are timely, complete, and compliant.
Monitor and follow up on laboratory-related quality records to ensure proper closure and effectiveness.
Review and approve laboratory deviations and investigations, including OOS/OOT events.
Assess root cause analyses and ensure that CAPAs are appropriate, effective, and sustainable.
Perform trending and support identification of recurring issues within laboratory processes.
Support optimization initiatives and smaller improvement projects within the laboratory and SCQ teams.
how to succeed
You are a quality-minded professional with a solution-oriented mindset and a strong background in GMP laboratory environments.
You will also bring:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related scientific discipline.
Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or laboratory operations within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Experience in deviation handling is a must.
Experience with Quality Systems (e.g. deviations, change control, CAPA, investigations).
In-depth knowledge of cGMP and relevant ICH guidelines.
Strong understanding of laboratory testing, documentation, and data integrity.
Flexible, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work under time pressure.
